Research Group Introduction

Founded in 1920, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, is a renowned tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospital with distinctive disciplinary features, solid clinical technological innovation capabilities, and core competitiveness. Spanning 109 acres with a total construction area of 280,000 square meters, the hospital boasts 2,150 authorized beds and 1,000 oral comprehensive dental chairs. The hospital has five academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. In 2021, it ranked 23rd nationally in the China Best Hospitals Comprehensive Rankings, with Plastic Surgery continuing to lead the nation, Oral Medicine ranking 3rd, Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery ranking 6th, and Ophthalmology ranking 7th. In 2022, it ranked 9th nationally in China Hospital STEM Rankings and 1st in China Hospital Patent Conversion Rankings.

Supervisor Introduction

Liu Xin, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor, currently serves as the Director of the Department of Dental Materials and the Director of the Shanghai Biomaterials Research and Testing Center at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She is also the head of the Shanghai Professional Technical Service Platform for Biomedical Materials Testing. Her research focuses on the development, evaluation, biological effects, and mechanisms of dental/biomaterials. Recipient of the 2018 Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program, Liu Xin has led three National Natural Science Foundation of China projects and four Shanghai Science and Technology Commission projects. She has published over 30 SCI research papers in prestigious biomedical materials journals such as Biomaterials and Bioactive Materials, with a total impact factor exceeding 200 and over 1000 citations. She holds three national invention patents, led/participated in five industry/group standards, and serves as Associate Editor of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan Teaching Material" of Dental Materials for undergraduate oral medicine majors at People's Medical Publishing House, among other academic positions.

Full-time Postdoctoral Recruitment Requirements and Salary

(I) Basic Requirements

  1. Non-in-service individuals who have obtained a Ph.D. degree within the last three years, with excellent academic and moral records, good health, and under the age of 35.
  2. Understanding of the current research status and development trends in the discipline, with a solid foundation in relevant professional theories and scientific research backgrounds.
  3. Possessing solid professional knowledge and experimental skills, a strong interest in scientific research with innovative thinking, ability to independently conduct research, strong English reading and writing skills, and a track record of publishing SCI papers in reputable international journals.
  4. Strong execution and self-discipline, diligence, integrity, excellent communication and coordination skills, independent working ability, and teamwork spirit.

(II) Professional Requirements

  1. Research direction aligned with or relevant to the supervisor's, including but not limited to Ph.D. degrees in chemistry, physics, materials science, biology, clinical medicine, stomatology, electronics, etc. Experience in biomedical materials, drug delivery, tissue engineering, biomedical engineering, etc., is preferred.
  2. Published at least one SCI paper in JCR Q1/Q2 or Chinese Academy of Sciences 1st/2nd quartile zones.
  3. Research work will primarily focus on basic research after joining the program.

(III) Salary and Benefits

  1. Pre-tax annual salary ranging from 250,000 to 330,000 CNY. Postdoctoral talents selected for municipal or higher-level programs will enjoy additional benefits according to national and hospital regulations.
  2. A one-time research startup fund of 100,000 RMB per person provided by the hospital during the postdoctoral period.
  3. Exceptionally outstanding postdocs upon completion of their terms may be prioritized for hospital employment and offered corresponding professional and technical positions.
  4. Other support includes social insurance, housing fund, union benefits, assistance with residence permit application in Shanghai according to relevant regulations, access to excellent medical services relying on the hospital's resources.
  5. Work location: Shanghai.
